Inspection
Points Covered:
·
Record all name plate data from identification tags on the
actuator, motor and if applicable, the gearbox
·
Visual inspection for damage to the outside of the actuator
·
Inspect for grease leaks that may have developed on the actuator
·
Manually stroke the actuator to check operation
·
Remove a small grease sample to check for water or other foreign
matter
·
Open limit switch cover to check for the presence of grease
or water
·
Inspect for loose, damaged or hard brittle wires
·
Inspect for corroded contacts
·
Electrically operate the actuator to check for noisy bearings
or binding during the valve stroke
·
Check current draw on the motor during the operation to verify
amperage draw is within nameplate tolerances
